Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors and assists functional staff with the technical use of PeopleSoft including PeopleSoft self-service.
• Develops ad hoc queries for users
• Assists with the development of internal and external necessary reports.
• Submits problem functional cases to PeopleSoft for resolution.
• Develops and maintains documentation for functional PeopleSoft processes.
• Assists in customization design, prototyping, scripting, testing and any upgrades that may occur in PeopleSoft implementation.
• Works with the professional staff to develop and implement process and/or systems for improvements.
• Support of PeopleSoft setup tables.
• Provides hands-on requirements gathering, analysis, and implementation of requested upgrades, enhancements, and changes to PeopleSoft applications.
• Provides functional support of applications working directly with modules in managing user requests; understanding user requirements and translating business requirements to functional specifications through hands-on analysis.
• Coordinates functional security with modules.
• Develops specifications for change management control.
• Coordinates and assists in testing for PeopleSoft patches/fixes and upgrades with users as well as DIT team members.
• Acts as liaison between functional users and technical team.
• Assists developers with design solutions for application modifications, interfaces and reports.
• Acts as a back-up for other PeopleSoft modules.
• Provides support for PeopleSoft security set up by establishing roles and permissions.
• Develops, monitors and manages PeopleSoft security reports and modifications as requested by functional data stewards.
• Works with functional users and developers to obtain and implement user security requirements for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HR and Financials.
• Reviews and facilitates archival processes of security reports for audit purposes.
• Escalates any application security issues and provide recommendations when necessary.
• Provides cross functional security recommendations across applications and modules to ensure data security and data integrity.
• Documents security issues and changes. • Develops, recommends and implements application and data security policies and ensures best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Researches new technologies in security and data monitoring, evaluates and tests security processes and tools, and enforce policies as required.
• Communicates and escalates critical security issues. Coordinates efforts to escalate and resolve major security incidents or application security issues.
• Consults with user community on security needs and educates users on standards and procedures.
• Assesses security needs and issues, evaluates business needs and designs and recommends solutions.
• Develops, configures, evaluates, tests, implements and certifies secure application architectures, systems and software solutions.
• Provides technical services to support, prepare and update existing security systems and works to automate processes related to security implementations, monitoring and enforcement.
• Recommends information security policies and leads implementation of processes and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance with security standards and procedures.
• Analyzes security requirements with functional modules and all associated with use of the application by the user community. Ensure functionality and security requirements are satisfied & monitored. Document daily security changes and provide for archival for auditing purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum two (2) years’ experience with a higher education ERP.
• Functional support experience of PeopleSoft Student Administration, HRMS 9.0, Financials or PS Security highly preferred.
• Experience in functional applications for higher education.
• Experience in creating queries/SQL.
• At least one full life cycle of higher education ERP implementation/upgrade project completion in a functional role is preferred.
• Two (2) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications is preferred.

Preferred Experience:
Skill in SQL
Skill in MS Access
Technical experience in PeopleTools

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Candidates must have demonstrated functional experience that includes process flow, strong business analytical skills.
• Must have a sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely, and document solutions.
• Ability to create queries/SQL to troubleshoot and support business users.
• Possess good analytical skills, with ability to develop solutions independently, and be capable of working under limited direction towards predefined objectives.
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills. Must enjoy being part of a team, and be a team player.
• Ability to facilitate communication within and between engineering teams.
• Ability to gather user requirements and translate into technical specifications.
